Yurchenko Vault Circuit (2)

Great vault circuit to hit the different phases of the Yurchenko vault development process. Main focuses on this circuit are:
1. Having a balanced body position on the hurdle. The more balanced the athlete is, the better power creation they have through both legs for the roundoff turnover. Also if they are already leaning a lot on a slow hurdle, when they speed it up to a full sprint… that lean is gonna be bigger!
2. Neutral head through the open of the shoulders and hips to maximize the reach and extension. Head leads… the shoulders do not reach maximum extension and therefore arrival at table must be high on, or with a little shoulder angle.
3. Roundoff turnover. We really want the athletes to work getting the feet under to create the most positive power and direction influence.

We put pieces of these together in different ways all the time. This is just an example of one circuit that we have done in the past. Gotta say, we do love the T-Trainer and Tumbl Trak for our drill work as they provide great surfaces to train on that allow for technical improvement and repetition without punishing impacts. @tumbltrak

Hope these help you and your athletes create their Best Darn Gymnastics!
