Levering – Applies to All Events

LEVERING – This is one of the most important concepts to teach athletes.
Create a tight body, athlete’s midsection acts as the center of rotation, think teeter-totter or see-saw, initiate rotation from one end of your body and it will automatically create rise from the opposite end. This iteration of the drill is focusing on creating a snap to a tight extended hollow body position. As the legs drive down, the shoulders and chest automatically rise (due to quality body tension). We do not encourage an arm lift or shoulder opening action in this drill. We ask for hands to stay pointed at the spot on the floor that they just departed.
