Do you ever have your athletes practice their leaps off a springboard?
This is a fantastic way to work on the full range of motion of leaps. The springboard gives the gymnast a little more power if done correctly. This leads to more hang time and subsequently more confidence for your kids to go for their maximum extension of leaps.
We always remind the gymnasts to snap and land with their feet together. We always would land this drill onto an 8 inch mat as well. Safety first!
