Coach Ian Campbell said he has been really enjoying this vault timer variation.
The goal is to be be able to snap the hips so aggressively that we’re able to stand up on the wedge mat with a slight backward lean.
This helps encourage rotation of the flip. Too often I find we are concerned with how high the athlete can timer and we forget about the speed of the flip. Which for me is the most important part, after the entry phase.
