We sometimes have trouble getting the kids to coordinate all their movements with the correct timing and direction. So we used this to help them understand how to coordinate their kick out, chin movement over to the shoulder in their twist direction, getting the arms to lead to the correct side and tightening the straight position so that the body can roll as one unit.
