Backwards Roll to Back Handspring

Backwards Roll down a cheese to immediate back handspring to flat belly fall. This station works the transition between the roundoff and the back handspring. The back roll simulates the snap of the round off. This allows the athletes to work the connection without worrying about the technique of the roundoff. We look for chest in and curled lower back.
We are using the back handspring to flat belly fall so they work the strong position on top of the hands and to avoid any snap close in the shoulders or super deep pike to the feet. You can see a few athletes want to pick their hands up too quickly – this helps solve that as well.
