Sarah has been coaching gymnastics since high school, and her genuine love for the sport is immediately clear. She has worked with athletes at every level and truly enjoys sharing her experience with gymnasts ranging from beginners to top-level elites. Creating a positive, supportive training environment is central to her coaching philosophy. Known for her eye for detail and precision, Sarah helps her athletes achieve consistent, high-quality results while continuing to grow and improve.
Sarah is currently a USA National Team Coach and is privileged to coach six-time World Medalist Shilese Jones. Their accomplishments together include:
2023 World Championships: Bronze medals in the All-Around and Uneven Bars, a Team Gold medal, and finals appearances on Floor Exercise and Balance Beam
2022 World Championships: Silver medals in the All-Around and Uneven Bars, along with a Team Gold medal
Shilese is also a USA Senior Elite National Champion on Floor Exercise and Uneven Bars and a USA Senior Elite National Team member.
Sarah was named Assistant Coach for Team USA at both the 2022 and 2023 World Championships.
Over the past several years, Sarah has played an integral role in the leadership of Ascend Gymnastics. During that time, the program was named USAG Development National Program of the Year in 2022, becoming the first program from Region 2 to receive this honor. Ascend has also been recognized as Region 2 Program of the Year in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Throughout her career, Sarah has coached athletes who have achieved an impressive range of accomplishments, including Development Program National Championship titles, Nastia Liukin Cup qualifiers and champion, TOPs National Teams, HOPES Championships and National Team selections, Canadian Elite Championships, USA National Team appointments, and multiple international assignments and medals. She has also helped develop many athletes who have gone on to compete successfully at the collegiate level on scholarship.
In addition to coaching, Sarah is actively involved in education and leadership within the sport. She has led a Balance Beam Masterclass with Nick Ruddock, served as a Balance Beam National Staff member at the 2022 Development Program National Team Camp, and was a Vault clinician for the 2025 TOPs A Camp. She is also a frequent regional and state clinician, working across all events.
Sarah’s additional experience and qualifications include serving as the Washington State Optional Representative, California TOPs State Manager, Level 10-rated Developmental Judge, Meet Director, and a board member of the Southern California Women’s Coaches Association. She is NCCP Level 2 certified, background checked, and SafeSport certified.
