You can’t spot every kip an athlete does… so how do you create the right habits? By drilling the pieces of the skill you find to be the most important to the quality of technique.
Here are two kip drills from Nastia Motuzok and @lagoldgymnastics . These are specifically working the compression at the end of the kip action. The only way to create great consistent casting for most kids is to get them to understand this compression where the feet stay in front of the bar through the finish of compression. Then you can unload the pike to create strong force pressing away from the bar for the cast.
We hope these can help you and your athletes create their Best Darn Gymnastics!
