The Kaboom on Trampoline

Logan Hursh and Ava take us through their learning process and progressions. Watch the entire sequence for creating a great Kaboom!

This gives a step-by-step progression for teaching the skill with drills, spotted progressions and the final product. Watch each slide and then give it a try!

Step 1: Learn to travel forward by pushing the hips and tilting backwards, landing with feet on a wedge
Step 2: Tilt backwards more so that hips contact first with the feet elevated in wedge. The infamous kaboom lag. Hold a strong hollow!
Step 3: Repeat step 2 but on a crash mat on the trampoline. The gymnast should be spotting her knees/feet
Step 4: Hand spot, no flip. This stops her from rotating. Reinforce vision on knees/feet.
Step 5: Hand spot by slowing her rotation to table position
Step 6: Sandwich grip spot to table position. Adding dynamics through vertical. Hope this helps your gymnasts develop their Best Darn Gymnastics!
